Mark and Holly Plackett –

Owners of Plackett Enterprises Inc.

Mark and Holly are residents of Kailua Kona, moving here in July, 2018. Before moving to Hawaii, Holly and Mark lived in Ocean Shores, Washington, moving there in April 2008, after living and raising a family in Redmond, Washington for 28 years. It was in Ocean Shores, Washington that Plackett Enterprises Inc. was established as a business marketing company offering a Speakers Bureau and other business-to-business services.  Mark and Holly then accepted a 2-year contract as Co-Executive Directors for the Ocean Shores/North Beach Chamber of Commerce. This contract gave them an opportunity to meet and get acquainted with many of the 175 business members in this tourist oriented community and gave them unique insight into the challenges of how businesses and a city succeed in a vibrant and competitive area featuring hospitality as its main industry.

Mark Plackett

Mark Plackett spent nearly 30 years in the corporate education business, primarily with The Pacific Institute in Seattle, Washington.  “We sold education and skills processes to individuals, businesses and government agencies that made them more effective." Mark started from the ground up first providing sales support along with writing and editing for workbooks and manuals. His skills, ideas and vision helped produce that company’s first video education tool. He then sold the video educational tools to a wide variety of clients including government agencies, military clients, manufacturing companies and unions. He qualified as a master facilitator, training the facilitators inside client organizations to deliver effective training. The Pacific Institute remains one of the Pacific Northwest's premier businesses, serving hundreds of clients throughout the United States and the world.

Holly Plackett

Holly had three major careers including the life insurance industry, the banking industry and public service. Besides selling skills, she is highly skilled in administration and organization. Her sixteen years of banking experience gives her a solid background in financial analysis. After spending time on Redmond’s planning council, she was elected and served a four-year term on the Redmond City Council. She has spent the last several years building a Speakers Bureau and lending administrative services to clients of Plackett Enterprises Inc. The last three years in Ocean Shores, Holly and Mark created Hospitality Training Workshops for businesses across Grays Harbor County.

Additionally, she also volunteered for the Ocean Shores Food Bank, and served on the Ocean Shores Planning Commission  for 4 years prior to being elected to the Ocean Shores City Council.

Mark was a member of the Marine Resources Committee for Grays Harbor County and served on Governor Jay Inslee’s Washington Coastal Marine Advisory Council [WCMAC]. Mark also was a paid consultant for the EXPO event as well as serving as a volunteer and administrator for the Shared Marketing Group in Ocean Shores.
